Join local historian Ghlee Woodworth and marine ecologist Captain Paul Aziz aboard the Yankee Clipper for a 90 minute cruise along the beautiful Merrimack River during Yankee Homecoming week. Step back in time and hear about shipyards, Caldwell’s Rum, and a castle as we cruise upriver to Amesbury. On the return leg, the Yankee Clipper takes us along the shores of Joppa, home of clammers, fishermen, and hunters, as we discover the timeless significance of our local estuary.

Our crew weaves together the area's maritime, economic and natural history, from the end of the last Ice Age 15,000 years ago to the most modern elements of life today, in one of America's most storied harbors. You'll learn what makes the salt marsh one of the most productive and biodiverse ecosystems on the planet. Common wildlife sightings on this trip include osprey, eagles, hawks, herons, egrets, diving cormorants, harbor seals and deer!

Parker River National Wildlife Refuge Tour

Duration: 2.5 Hours
Pristine beauty, wide open space, gorgeous views, and the chance to float up and down the peaceful, winding creeks of the world's second most productive ecosystem. Learn how Plum Island and the Great Marsh were formed and how important they are. Trips scheduled periodically during the season. Schedule to be determined.
